Sunrise aims to provide compassionate care for those who struggle with HIV and other illnesses as well as those who are marginalized in society, and to share Christ with them through word and deed.
Sunrise was founded in Kampong Cham in 2001 as a response to the high number of people dying from opportunistic infections due to HIV/AIDS before ARV drugs were readily available. Sunrise currently provides developmental care to ill and marginalized individuals and families through Children’s Education Program, home visitations, and on-site hospice care. In addition, we provide medical care and supplement meals for the most ill persons within Kampong Cham’s provincial prison as well as facilitate Peace Builders Life Skills Training to selected prisoners.
Sunrise is expanding into education and support for other chronic illnesses such as diabetes & hypertension–encouraging communities to embrace necessary changes in diet and exercise, as well as developing a community-based hospice program to support those choosing to die at home and their family caregivers.
Sunrise is run completely by Khmer staff who are committed to the transformation of our clients.
Sunrise has an opening for an individual or couple that have medical experience. This opportunity would to continue the hard work done by a Palliative Care nurse that has returned home. For more details on this opportunity please email Chris Catlin directly
