Update from Boroh La-or Pit

CVM

Here is an update from Nou Vandeth. Vandeth leads Boroh La-or Pit (Khmer for Good Real Men) which is the Cambodia arm of Christian Vision for men which was set up in Partnership with Cambodia Action.

Greetings from Cambodia, and I hope this update finds you well, I am writing to give you some update about Good Real Men.

On Saturday 12th we had a productive time with a group of church leaders in Kompong Thom province. There were around 30 people who participated at the envisioning workshop. This group of church leaders plus the local authority felt that there is a big need to work with men and to help them to become good real men. We plan to follow up with men’s group leader training soon.

On Saturday 19th last week, we had good time with a similar group in Kompong Chhnang. We ran the same workshop for around 20 men. Those church leaders who attended the men workshop showed a real passion to work with men. We are planning to start men’s group leadership training next month – there will be 4 sessions, one per fortnight, initially and we will then see how much progress we have made. Our first goal will be to develop 20 men leaders. We then hope in future that those 20 men leaders will eventually be able to train other leaders in their province once they have gained more experience.

On Saturday 26th I will spend some time with some pastors in Kandal province. Out of this fellowship time we hope something will happen afterward.

We praise the Lord that some of university students who attend our meetings in dormitories are also becoming serious about helping men who live in other dormitories. Some have asked me to meet them once a week to mentor them on how they should lead men groups into deep discussion about life issues. We now have a Khmer man who has volunteered to help edit some videos for us. Praise the Lord that he has brought one more worker to help our ministry!!!

Please pray for us as we will travel a lot from next month onward. Thanks also for always being with us all the time.

May the Lord richly bless you.
Nou Vandeth
